Libya’s security and dysfunctionality issues are clearly shown or brought into attention when, a militia allied with members of its own Ministry of the Interior conspired and abducted, for only 5 hours, Prime Minister Ali Zeidan from his hotel in Tripoli.
The fact that such a thing happened out in public, and so easily, speaks for Libya. Because of the armed groups that were formed during war against Muammar Gaddafi are the form of power, or authority, Libya is now splintered into mini-states with their own justice systems. The group responsible for the abduction, the Libya’s Revolutionaries, declared that all this was because the Prime Minister approved and supported a U.S. raid that, according to the U.S government, has not happened yet. Now the U.S fears that this matter will affect them by having negative effects on American assets in Libya.
Apparently, even a super safe 5-star hotel represents a huge danger and risk in Libya, were armed forces act against their leaders and representatives [Prime Minister].
